AMERSFOORT, the Netherlands – 28 March 2018

YARD ENERGY has signed an exclusive PPA partnership agreement with Eneco Group, a group of companies operating in the field of sustainable energy and innovation. According to the agreement Eneco will purchase 100% of the green electricity generated by 6 newly developed Dutch wind farms of the YARD ENERGY development portfolio for a period of 16 years. The wind farms will have a total capacity of more than 200 MW and are expected to become operational in 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively.

With this partnership Eneco increases its wind generated capacity in the Netherlands by 15% to a total of over 1,500 MW. This agreement covers 48 wind turbines that are expected to generate more than 700 GWh of green electricity per year, enough to supply around 233,000 households.

Mark Belloni, Director Eneco Energy Trade: ‘As a leading energy company with a strong focus on sustainability Eneco continuously looks to expand the portfolio of sustainable sources from which we can supply our customers with green electricity. We’re very excited about this agreement with YARD ENERGY which will allow us to provide more of our customers, both private and corporate, with green electricity generated by Dutch wind.’

‘Being one of the largest wind energy developers of the Netherlands, YARD ENERGY shares Eneco’s ambition to support and speed up the ongoing transition towards renewable energy. This long-term contract with Eneco underlines the mutual focus of both companies towards a sustainable future with green energy only.’ says Kevin Dijkers, CEO of YARD ENERGY Group.
